The 1993 price was £4.99 - the 2001 edition
£5.99. The original dedication to the "Clan
McEogh" has been removed in the 1993 edition
but returned in the 2001 version. The title pages
include the "Author's Note" claiming that the
Swallows and Amazons story came solely from
Ransome's own childhood. Full details of the

The 2001 edition has an incorrect first
publication date - 1940 should read 1933.
