Swallows and Amazons was the only one of the twelve Ransome children's books translated into Dutch (1955)

The title "Het onbewoonde eiland" literally means "The uninhabited island". The Walker children's names become Jan, Suze, Tittie and Rutger, while Nancy and Peggy Blackett become Nannie and Greet Zwart.
